I offer one hour 1:1 mentoring sessions Zoom. This is a one hour chat to help you with your direction, purpose, goals, projects or even technical questions.

Alternatively I offer four weeks of email mentoring with or without a virtual 1:1.

After you’ve booked I’ll ask you to fill in a questionnaire so I can understand more about you, what you’d like to do and where you want to go. I’ll also send you a calendar so you can book your time.

If you book the email mentoring option I’ll email you once a week for four weeks (with a break in the middle) to give you the best possible advice and support. If you’ve booked in for a Zoom consultation with the email mentoring we’ll begin with that and then the emails will be there to assist and support as you work through the tasks and ideas from our chat. After the initial questionnaire (and Zoom call if applicable) you’ll receive an email from me every Friday. You’ll then have until the following Thursday to draft an email back to me in which you can ask me questions, brainstorm ideas - anything you like for me to reply to that gets you closer to your goals.

I worked with Helen for a few months. I needed help with starting a blog and she was awesome. She is more than helpful - she is inspiring. Helen has a way of telling you about her own struggles and to use them to help you that I’ve never seen anywhere else. She is growing with you and that’s what makes working with her so precious.

About me

When I first created an online journal on Blogger sixteen years ago while struggling with post natal depression I had no idea how much it would change my life. I had gone from confident young career woman to a confused, overwhelmed and unwell young mother in the blink of an eye.

Unsure, I joined an online writing group with the aim of finishing the first draft of my novel. And I can honestly say that writing online saved me. It enabled me to explore new interests, gave me new friends, new skills, a new career direction, a focus and I became a writer. A word I never dreamed I’d use to describe myself.

I have gained confidence, skills and a writing voice. I have become aware of the mental blocks that are holding me back and can see these same blocks affecting so many creative people. Every day I fight through my fears so that I can keep writing and pushing forward to achieve my ambitions. One of the key things I’ve learned is how to plan and make my ideas a reality.

My professional background is in business and marketing. I’ve written for a parenting magazine, for The Huffington Post, the Sarah Raven Blog and was a columnist for leading online literary websites – one of which I went on to edit; coordinating and supporting the work of over a dozen other writers. Offline I’ve written for many different publications and I’ve been featured in the Daily Telegraph.

I am now a writer, blogger, an Instagrammer, occasional influencer, a YouTuber and have patrons on Patreon. I’ve developed technical skills, writing skills, as well as continuing to overcome imposter syndrome, stop procrastination and beat a fear of failure.

In recent years I’ve been fortunate to partner with a number of fantastic brands including Bettys Tea Rooms, Collins Notebooks, Transworld Publishers, Taylors of Harrogate, Cuisinart, Amazon Publishing and the car brand, Skoda. I’ve coached people online around the world in Canada, the USA, France and the UK helping them with everything from idea development, to planning and building upon their ideas.
