Animal Themed Homeware for the Animal Lover

Over the last few years my home has come to reflect the animals we keep and those that fly into our garden. The extent of the influence from our pets and the outdoors hadn’t really occurred to me until yesterday when I spotted the Joules mugs below and I started to look around me at what I already had and put two and two together.

I have dog prints on the wall, chicken and highland cow photographs that I’ve taken myself (we don’t have cows, I hasten to add, but they’re in the field opposite), we have rabbit, pheasant and dog prints on lampshades, to my left of where I’m sitting I have a picture of a green woodpecker and foxes are running about everywhere on cushions, towels, bedspreads and mugs. And the chickens and the ducks are on the table mats, also on mugs, on china, on cushions…the list goes on. So I thought I’d write a post sharing some of my favourites. Just in case you’re as animal obsessed as I am.

Doggie designed mugs from Joules

I have to start with Joules as that is what sparked it all off. I have a Joules dog notebook and duck keyring but I also discovered a lovely range of fresh dog designs such as the newspaper shredder mug (see above). They also have a biscuit burglar design, a sausage stealer and a slipper thief. The designs also come as side plates and the gold one as an oven glove and there’s even a sausage stealer t-towel.

They also have these three doggy designs on notebooks. These would make a perfect gift for the dog lover.

Runner ducks, chickens and dogs from Sophie Allport

I love the runner duck range from Sophie Allport. We have the runner duck teabag tidy made of fine bone china and it makes me smile every time I use it (unless there is a teabag mountain on there that no-one has bothered to put in the bin!) I love the tea bag tidies in general as I think they make sweet little gifts. (I bought my sister the cow one last year.)

Sophie Allport has the same designs on mugs (I have a chicken and egg mug on my desk to keep my emergency pair of glasses in as I accidentally bashed it so it cannot be used for drinking but is great for storage! I also have a Sit! Labrador mug) and other china too and, oh my goodness, I’ve just seen she has a chicken design on an espresso cup and saucer….

One more thing from Sophie Allport - I love the Fab Labs Pet Bed Mattress. Something to think about for DogFace and PuppyFace as they are finding it difficult to squeeze into a basket together now.

Scion Mr Fox

You’ve heard me talking about my Scion Mr Fox coffee mug, right? It has appeared in numerous Instagram videos and vlogs! Well, I’m a bit obsessed with Mr Fox and have the design on towels and cushions. Then I treated myself to the Scion Mr Fox duvet cover and I love it. Big foxes on one side and small foxes on the other. (Ignore the rubbish picture on the amazon website as it has a green tinge - the cover is a lovely grey colour.)

Alice Draws the Line on Etsy

I have been following Alice Draws the Line on Instagram for some time and have a couple of her beautiful prints as notebooks (see left picture below). She has a cosy woodland style going on and you can get her designs as prints, tote bags, temporary tattoos, notebooks and water bottles.

These enamel mugs of juggling hedgehogs are just gorgeous.

Lolly and Boo on Etsy

Lolly and Boo create linen drum lampshades with a country style. They use fabrics from Peony and Sage and Olive and Daisy. I have two labradors and heart (in Olive and Daisy fabric) drum lampshades (see above on right) and I adore them.
